Care of real hair extensions

Cleaning and brushing
• When washing hair extensions, it is always best to let the hair air dry. You can also use a hairdryer on low heat to speed up the drying process, keeping the dryer about 30cm away. Never sleep with wet hair.
• Brush through the hair thoroughly before washing and separate the wefts with your fingers if you have extended your hair with keratin bonds, as these can otherwise clump together.
• When showering, gently massage the shampoo in with downward motions; do not rub. Rinse thoroughly afterward! Avoid showering with hot water; lukewarm water is recommended. Use moisturizing conditioner while combing out the hair. Do not wash your extensions more often than necessary to avoid unnecessary wear.
• Use Poze Luxury Hair Care products for cleansing and care. With our products, you can be sure they do not contain ingredients harmful to your extensions or your natural hair. Use a hair mask about twice a month as needed; do not use masks, oils, or other heavy products too often. Remember never to apply conditioner or hair mask at the bonds, as this can make them greasy and cause the bonds to slip or come loose. When using extensions, always avoid products containing non-water-soluble silicones, as these can make the hair very tangled and severely reduce quality. Use moisturizing products rather than oily ones, as oily products can cause extensions to tangle.
• Brush through the hair every day, starting at the ends when brushing. We recommend boar bristle brushes for extensions. Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle knots and tangles before the hair dries. Ideally, brush when the hair is dry. Always hold the bonds firmly when brushing to avoid pulling and damaging your extensions.

Styling
• You can curl and straighten the hair extensions. You can style your hair extensions just like your natural hair, but be extra gentle and always use heat-protective products that are silicone-free. Avoid straightening or blow-drying the extensions too often. The more frequently you do it, the faster the hair wears out.
• Never place curling or straightening irons directly on keratin bonds as they can melt; also avoid this on bonds from other hair extension methods.
• Do not spray hairspray containing alcohol on your hair extensions as it damages the hair. Avoid styling products that contain silicones or alcohol.

Avoid
• Braid your hair at night; nothing causes as much damage as sleeping while twisting and rubbing your hair during the night. Use hair ties without metal. Never go to bed with wet hair. Brush it through again when you wake up.
• Strong sun, heat, and swimming in chlorinated or salt water can loosen keratin bonds and other extension attachments. Hair is especially damaged when exposed to such conditions; salt water and chlorine can cause severe tangling, and blonde hair may discolor. Rinse your hair thoroughly with fresh water after such exposure and use hair masks and leave-in products that protect the hair. Ideally, avoid swimming with your hair. We are not responsible for extensions used in the sun or water.
• Avoid using heavy products like oils and repair masks for damaged hair (only moisturizing products should be used). Oily or oil-based products create a coating around the strands that can cause them to stick together, making the hair tangled. Avoid these types of products and focus solely on moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner sprays. To ensure you use products that do not affect the quality of your extensions, we strongly recommend our products from Poze Luxury Hair Care. We cannot test or guarantee all products on the market, so using other products is at your own risk.
• All toning, coloring, or other chemical treatments on the hair are done at your own risk. We do not recommend such treatments on your extensions as they are already treated. We do not replace hair damaged due to chemical treatments.
